Are Your Students Plotting Something?

Analyzing and interpreting data is one of the eight NGSS Science and Engineering Practices, and my high school students come into my class each year struggling to create a simple graph. “Is it a bar or line graph?” is a frequent question I hear when students are analyzing their lab results. Yet I know they’ve learned about graphing in all of their previous science classes. In this session, gain strategies on how to teach students to analyze and interpret data, create their own graphs, and practice these skills throughout the entire school year.
